Laser Therapy Leeds

Laser Therapy At Freedom Care Clinics Leeds

Freedom Care Clinics have invested in both low-level laser therapy (LLLT) and High-Intensity Laser Therapy (HILT). High Intensity Laser Therapy is a Class 4 Medical Laser which achieves rapid results. Typically called cold laser or LLLT, low-level laser therapy is a treatment that can aid tissue repair, nerve regeneration and bone formation. Often used as an alternative to acupuncture, LLLT helps to speed up the healing process of fractures and soft tissue injuries.

High-Intensity Laser Therapy (HILT) treatment works in a comparable way, however, the additional power in the laser unit enables deeper penetration below the skin surface and quicker treatment times. We’re now offering this innovative treatment in our Leeds and Manchester clinics.

How Does Laser Therapy Work?

Our LLLT and HILT therapy clinic in Leeds works in two ways to accelerate the healing process. First of all, it may improve cellular function, and secondly, it may help to reduce pain and inflammation.

During laser therapy, light waves penetrate up to three centimetres of soft tissue (muscles, tendons and ligaments) to support the vital work of cells and provide the energy necessary for healing.

The infra-red and invisible light frequencies from our Laser devices stimulate cell mitochondria, enabling cells to perform optimally by upregulating their ability to use glucose (energy from the bloodstream). This can improve the function and recovery of injured tissue and cells.

Will Laser Therapy Hurt?

Low-level laser therapy uses low levels of light, the laser itself does not produce any heat or vibration, meaning you won’t experience any pain or discomfort during the treatment. During High-Level Laser Therapy treatment, a sensation of warmth is sometimes noticed. However, this does not result in discomfort and is usually described as pleasant.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Many patients feel a reduction in pain after the first session of laser therapy. However, in order to treat the underlying cause of the pain, a course of treatments is usually advised.

When Should I Start a Course of Treatment?

Low-level laser therapy and high-level laser therapy can be used on both new and chronic injuries. In both cases, the laser may work to reduce pain, reduce inflammation, improve cellular function and aid healing.

What Laser Device do you use at Freedom Care Clinics?

Freedom Care Clinics have invested in Chattanooga HPL7 Class 4 laser devices.  This is a professional clinical laser device working within the 810nm and 980nm wavelengths. This provides excellent cellular penetration and has been clinically proven to be effective. The power and capability of class 4 lasers cannot be compared to hand-held consumer products available online.
